my corner of the internet
I've always wanted to know how the world worked in order to make it a better place.
I grew up in Arizona, but New York made me who I am. Throughout it all, I was chronically online. Still am, for better or worse.
I started asking questions and learned how to think critically by studying political science and sociology at SUNY Albany. I found my way to tech by way of customer support and Trust & Safety and have since dedicated my career to building tools and technology that protect people online.
I like learning new things, and I'm good at it. I'm also good at picking up new hobbies (and then dropping them), being curious, and meeting new people. I'm bad at watching movies, organizing cables, and being quiet.
I used to run a blog about Asian American culture and politics. I spent a long time working on teams that keep people safe online. These days, I'm building open source tools so anyone can use the same kind of technology I once helped create.
When I'm not at a computer, I love to cook and explore the outdoors, especially the mountains. I live in NYC with my partner and our cat, Mau Mau.
